Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-09
NEURA (“NEURA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a brain-training app. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using NEURA you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Anonymous profile. NEURA works without registration. On first launch the App creates a profile identified by an internal account id and a device-scoped identifier (Apple’s identifier-for-vendor). We do not require your name or email to use the App.
- Optional account details. If sign-in (e.g. Sign in with Apple) is available and you choose to use it, we receive a basic identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email. You may also optionally set a display name (shown on the leaderboard), your birth year, and country — all optional.
- Onboarding answers. Your goals and the answers you give in the short onboarding questionnaire, used to personalize your training plan.
- Gameplay data. Your game sessions and results (which games you played, rounds, answers, timing, scores), streaks, and daily-challenge activity. This is the core data the App needs to compute your progress and Focus Index.
- Device & app data. Device type, OS version, app version, language/region, and timezone — linked to your profile and used to operate the App, keep your progress consistent across time zones, and diagnose problems.
- In-app usage events. How you move through the App (screens opened, features used, games started/finished), collected via our product-analytics provider (Amplitude) to understand and improve the App. These events never include the content of your support messages.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store. We receive purchase/entitlement status from our payments provider (RevenueCat); we never receive your card or payment details.
- Support requests. If you contact us via the support form, we receive the email address, subject, and message you submit, and we keep basic technical metadata to prevent abuse of the form.
- Advertising attribution (only with your permission). If you grant the iOS App Tracking Transparency permission, we receive limited install/attribution data (an advertising identifier and campaign source) via our attribution provider (AppsFlyer) to measure which campaigns bring people to NEURA. If you decline, the App works fully and no advertising identifier is collected.
2. What we do NOT collect
- No precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or health data.
- No third-party ads or data brokers; we do not sell your personal data.
- Your gameplay data is never used to build advertising profiles.
3. How we use your information
- To run your training: generate puzzles, track sessions, compute scores, streaks, the daily challenge, and your Focus Index.
- To personalize your experience based on your goals and onboarding answers.
- To operate your subscription and unlock what you’ve paid for.
- To keep the service safe, prevent cheating and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To diagnose problems and improve the App.
- To answer your support requests.
4. Focus Index — what it is
The Focus Index is a score computed from your own gameplay results. It reflects how your performance in NEURA’s games changes over time. It is not an IQ score, a medical or psychological assessment, or a comparison of your intelligence with other people, and it should not be used for any medical, educational, or employment purpose.
5. Third-party services
We rely on a small set of providers strictly to run NEURA:
- Apple — App Store distribution and payments (and Sign in with Apple, if you use it).
- RevenueCat — subscription / purchase status management.
- Amplitude — product analytics (in-app usage events) to understand and improve the App.
- AppsFlyer — mobile attribution: measures which marketing campaigns lead to installs (only with your ATT permission — see section 1).
- Meta — receives aggregated install / event measurements (only with your ATT permission) to gauge how our ads perform. Never your gameplay history, onboarding answers, or support messages.
Our servers are operated on infrastructure hosted in the EU.
6. Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers listed above to the extent needed to run NEURA, or where required by law. If you appear on the weekly leaderboard, the display name you chose and your weekly result are visible to other users; you can play without setting a display name. Weekly progress certificates you share via a link contain only anonymous figures.
7. Data retention & deletion
- Your profile and gameplay data are kept while you use NEURA so your progress and history work.
- You can request deletion of your data from within the App. Deletion anonymizes your profile: personal identifiers (email, sign-in identifiers, display name, and similar) are permanently removed, and shared certificate links stop working. Purchase records are retained in anonymized form as long as required for tax and legal obligations.
- Support requests are kept only as long as needed to handle them and prevent abuse.
8. Your choices & rights
- Use NEURA without an account, a name, or an email.
- Set or remove your leaderboard display name at any time.
- Request deletion of your data from within the App.
- Decline the tracking permission (if shown) and keep using NEURA fully.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability). Contact us via the support form to exercise them.
9. Children
NEURA is not directed to children. You must be old enough to consent to this policy in your country (and in any case at least 13 years old).
10. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
11. International transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above; continued use of NEURA means you accept the updated policy.
